Peta’s Rural Placement!

Blog

You may have seen Peta in the clinic over the last 4 weeks. Peta joined us from University of Canberra for a 4 week clinical placement as she heads into her last year of a Bachelor of Exercise Physiology and Rehabilitation! Here’s what Peta had to say about her time with Rural Health, and her future in Exercise Physiology:

  • “Clinical placements are critical to the training and development of Australia’s allied health force. Placement opportunities, like this one with Rural Health, allow students from outside the area to experience rural practice and see a wide range of people with various conditions. In my case, it’s a wonderful opportunity to work with multiple allied health professionals and observe individual and group exercise programming.
  • I have a strong passion for helping people improve their health through exercise. My approach is people-centred and evidence-based. I believe in using the science of exercise to boost physical fitness and support mental and emotional wellness.
  • My motivation comes from a sincere desire to assist others in reaching their best selves, promoting a sense of self-efficacy, accomplishment and resilience.”

Thanks to all of our clients for allowing Peta into your sessions, to help her develop her knowledge and skills as an Allied Health Professional. We love seeing students heading to rural areas, and experiencing the positive impacts that Allied Health has on our incredible communities. 🌿💚
