Brodie grew up in Tumut, moving away to study a Bachelor of Exercise Science and Rehabilitation at the University of Wollongong. Before returning to Tumut Brodie practised in a range of health care settings including private practice, cardiology and disability services.
Brodie was a 2021 Murrumbidgee Primary Health Network Awards finalist for Outstanding Contribution to Leadership in Primary Healthcare and has always held a strong interest in rehabilitation, exercise and recreation options for people with a disability. Brodie continues to be involved in wheelchair sports as both a volunteer and athlete, playing wheelchair basketball for the Sydney University Flames in the Women’s National Wheelchair Basketball League.
