Moving back from Sydney I love that in Tumut I’ve never been stuck in traffic, it’s a quick commute to work and a scenic walk if I’m feeling energetic! In Tumut, rentals are a lot cheaper so it’s easier to work towards my financial goals. The Bar Tender and Barista at my favourite venues in town greet me by my name and know my order, you feel like you’re part of the community everywhere you go.
Moving back to the Riverina from Northern Queensland I’m loving the region’s perfect climate, it’s never too hot or too cold! The local rural community and my work colleagues have been really welcoming and supportive as I’ve settled in. It’s a beautiful area and there is always something to do on weekends, be it a dog walk by the river, a hike in the National Park or a beer at the Brewery.
Tumut is central to Canberra, Wagga & Sydney, I can get to the City and back for a day of shopping if I want to. I love the variety of climates, you can snuggle by the fire in winter, and get out swimming in the local rivers or dams in summer. It’s also a great place to raise kids, with lots of opportunity and activities as they grow!
I love the local community spirit, everyone is there to help each other out when needed. The scenery is breathtaking, and we have access to so many pristine natural environments to explore on weekends! Tumut is a great place to raise kids, with schooling options, lots of team sports and a plethora of weekend activities. It’s a very nurturing environment.
Tumut has a strong team sports culture, local clubs are always really welcoming to new players. The region offers a good nightlife, we have a variety of venues, all offering a great atmosphere. Professionally between Gundagai and Tumut I’ve had lots of opportunities for ongoing education and growth.
I love the accessibility of the Mountains, Forrests, Rivers and Dams. We’ve got world class hiking, fishing, mountain biking & camping all on our doorstep. In Tumut the cost of living is significantly lower than the city with average house rental costing $327.50/week and average home purchase price of $315 000 making it easier to get ahead.
